The Soul of Virginia

A short poem

Distant friends ask of elections
I worry for its soul
Late dropping statues
Richmond harbors old

Sprouting new growth
Open minds, open hearts
Husk clings through decay
Grasping at its parts

Inclusion is abundance
Delusion is decline
Making space for the many
To thrive is divine
